Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, the largest and most experienced health insurance company in Illinois, caters to more than 6.5 million people statewide. BCBS came to Davidoff to plan and execute a series of strategically planned events, including a new product sales meeting at a White Sox game at U.S. Cellular Field, a day-of-event with Chicago Sun Times columnist Terry Savage, and a series of business meetings and a golf recreation tournament at Lake Geneva.The Davidoff team used their background, creativity, and ingenuity to create live branding events that were more than just events, but experiences. “John was able to expand these events in positive ways to enhance people’s experiences,” Peter Rodes, Division VP, Consumer Markets for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois said. The Producer Advisory Council, held at Lake Geneva, showcased Davidoff’s strengths. The weekend relied on outdoor activities, including golf and recreation around Lake Geneva. When rain threatened the plans, the Davidoff team “came up with alternatives and thought on their feet. They were terrific,” Peter said. “They were prepared and helped us steer that one through to a successful conclusion.” As luck would have it, rain skipped over Lake Geneva and the weekend went off without a hitch. Although the group lucked out, Davidoff’s ability to plan for the future allowed everyone to breathe a bit easier. “With large events, there are always moments of truth,” Peter said. “It was very well-planned, very well-executed, and there were plans to respond to the unexpected. We’ve been consistently pleased with their results.” Events can turn at any second, and Davidoff’s ability to overcome and plan for challenges have proven a valuable asset. “They’ve been terrific in their execution,” Peter said. “John takes the time and is thoughtful, provides good strategic counsel, and great context to provide strategic value alongside execution. That was outstanding.” The event at Lake Geneva led to an increase in BCBS’s broker business, and a 20% improvement over the year in producer business. Additionally, the True Blue program doubled in size over the next 12 months. “They played a role in really expanding our sales force and sales results as a direct contribution from John’s projects,” Peter said. “What a pleasant, energetic, positive business mind and strong business partner,” Peter said. “I’m glad to have worked with him and look forward to working with him in the future.” www.bcbsil.com |
